Our Background
How God Has Formed Us
We began as a tight-knit group of five believers meeting in each other's houses.
We've been around some of the churches in the town and like many have found ourselves hurt, disillusioned and at times adrift in our christian walk.
Since meeting, God quickly bound us closely together and has spoken to us very clearly about starting a church by finding good ground, laying a firm foundation in Christ and His will. Every step we are making is by the direction of the Holy Spirit, scripture and prayer. He is growing our numbers and we believe He will continue to do so.
God has given us a vision for His church which involves a sound biblical model of....
A focus on the Lord Jesus Christ to abide with and unite His Body. 1 Cor 12:27, Col 1:27, John 17:23
Dependancy on The Holy Spirit to empower us, (Eph 3:16) to speak (John 16:13) and guide. (Rom 8:14)
Trust in scripture for His word to train us, check our motives and search our hearts and minds. Heb 4:12, 2 Tim 3:16, 1 Cor 4:1-2
A body of elders (rather than a single leader) who are servants of the fellowship. Mat 20:25-26, Act 20:17,28, Tit 1:5
Open participatory meetings where every member functions and grows, encouraging authentic fellowship. 1 Cor 14:26, Eph 4:12, Act 2:42, Rom 12:4-8
A clear mechanism to safeguard the spiritual health and function of the congregation. 1 Cor 5:11-13, Mat 18:15-18
